This standard applies to interconnection based on the total rating of all DR units in Local EPS. The functions of interconnection system hardware and software that affect the field EPS must meet this standard regardless of their location on the EPS.
The specified specifications and requirements, both technical and testing, are universally necessary for the interconnection of the DR, including synchronous machines, induction machines or power inverters/converters and will suffice for most installations.
The grounding scheme of the DR interconnection shall not cause overvoltages in excess of the rated value of the equipment connected to the EPS Field and shall not disturb the coordination of earth fault protection in the EPS Field.
