ISO 21782-5 Electrically Powered Road Vehicles - Working Load Test of Engine System

The purpose of this test is to evaluate and rank the strength of components affected by mechanical or electrical fatigue, such as the motor shaft key, rotor fixture, shaft clamping piece, stator fixtures, power semiconductor chip, and DC bus capacitor.

The test is adjusted taking into account repeated operations at the upper specification limits of the motor system operating under matched inverter and motor combination conditions. Unless otherwise stated, the test method can be decided by the supplier and the customer.

The vibrations produced by the motor will be measured when the driver accelerates to maximum speed. The rate of acceleration will be slow enough. Vibration data before and after testing should be compared to avoid a significant increase. The difference in vibration values ​​will be evaluated with an agreement between the supplier and the customer.

The purpose of this test is to ensure that the voltage applied to the motor input terminal is below the withstand voltage specified by the motor manufacturer in terms of temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and endurance. Matched motor and inverter will be used in the test.
