EN IEC 61326-1 Electrical Equipment for Measurement, Control and Laboratory Use - EMC Requirements - Part 1: General requirements

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN IEC 61326-1 standard. This part of IEC 61326 deals with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for professional, industrial, manufacturing and educational use, including equipment and computer equipment, for electrical equipment powered by a supply or battery less than 1000V ac, or from 1500V dc or measured circuit. Specifies immunity and emission requirements.

EN IEC 61326-1 Electrical Equipment for Measurement, Control and Laboratory Use - EMC Requirements - Part 1: General requirements

  • measurement and testing,
  • Control,
  • laboratory use,
  • Accessories (such as sample processing equipment) intended for use in conjunction with the above, intended for use in industrial and non-industrial locations.

Information technology equipment and assemblies and similar equipment covered by Information Technology Equipment (ITE) and conforming to the applicable ITE EMC standards may be used without additional testing in systems covered by this part of IEC 61326, provided that they comply with the intended electromagnetic device. This product family standard takes precedence over general standards.

The following equations are within the scope of this standard.

Electrical Measurement and Testing Equipment

This is equipment that measures, displays, or records one or more electrical or non-electrical quantities by electrical means, as well as non-measurement equipment such as signal generators, measurement standards, power supplies, and transducers.

Electric Control Equipments

This is equipment that controls one or more output quantities to specific values, where each value is determined by manual settings, local or remote programming, or one or more input variables. This includes Industrial Process Measurement and Control (IPMC) equipment consisting of devices such as:

  • Process controllers and regulators,
  • programmable controllers,
  • Power supply units (centralized or dedicated) for equipment and systems,
  • Analog/digital displays and recording devices,
  • process instrumentation,
  • Converters, positioners, smart actuators etc.

Equipment that measures, displays, monitors or analyzes substances or is used to prepare materials and includes In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) equipment. This equipment can also be used in areas other than laboratories, for example self-testing IVD equipment can be used at home.

This standard applies to:

  • Equipment for use in residential, commercial and light industrial environments according to IEC 61000-6-1,
  • Equipment for use in industrial spaces,
  • Equipment to be used in laboratories in test and measurement areas where the electromagnetic environment is controlled,
  • Portable test and measurement devices.
