IEC 61726 describes the measurement of shielding attenuation by the reverberation chamber test method, sometimes called a mode mixing chamber, which is suitable for almost any microwave component and has no theoretical upper frequency limit.
It is limited to low frequencies only due to the size of the test equipment, which is frequency dependent and is only one of several methods for measuring shielding attenuation.
Examples of microwave components for the purpose of this standard are waveguides, phase shifters, multiplexers, power dividers, combiners, etc.
This edition constitutes a technical revision. It takes into account the latest developments in the design of reverberation chambers, as described in IEC 61000-4-21, which also refers to this standard as a possible test method. In addition, an alternative measurement procedure is added, which can reduce the measurement time required.
