IEC EN 60051-1 Standard Test for Analog Electrical Measuring Devices Indicating Direct Acting

This section applies to analog electrical measuring instruments with direct-acting displays, such as:

• Ammeters and voltmeters;
• Wattmeters and varmeters;
• Frequency meters of pointer and vibrating reed types;
• Phase meters, power factor meters and synchroscopes;
• Ohmmeters (impedance meters) and conductivity meters;
• Multifunctional tools of the above types.

Also applies to:

• A number of more accessory devices, provided the settings have been made for this set;
• Direct-acting electrical measuring devices whose scale markings do not correspond to the amount of electricity applied directly to the input of the device, provided the relationship between them is known;
• Devices and accessories with electronic devices in their measurement or auxiliary circuit.

The standards in this series do not apply to:

• Special devices within the scope of their own IEC standards;
• Special devices covered by their own IEC standards when used as accessories.

This standard does not specify requirements for the dimensions of devices or accessories.
