ETSI EN 300 253 Environmental Engineering (EE) Standard for Grounding and Connecting of -48 VDC ICT Equipment in Telecom and Data Centers

The ETSI EN 300 253 standard applies to the grounding and connection of ICT equipment operating with DC voltage as defined in ETSI EN 300 132-2 to facilitate the installation, operation and maintenance of the equipment.

It also coordinates with the prerequisites of the installation to achieve the objectives of safety against electrical hazards, reliable signal reference, satisfactory Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) performance.

ICT equipment features and installation prerequisites are subject to agreement of the parties (e.g. supplier and buyer) and the procedure for reaching agreement should be included in the document.

This standard does not cover the safety and EMC features of the equipment. These issues are covered by other relevant standards.

This standard does not apply to the installation of ICT equipment in locations other than telecommunications and data centres, eg ICT equipment in a customer's premises, including subscriber line termination. Grounding and bonding of equipment installed in locations other than telecommunications and data centers is covered by CENELEC EN 50310.
