The coordination dimensions chosen for the mechanical structure for heights, widths and depths are contained within a homogeneous, metric modular three-dimensional grid as specified in IEC EN 60917. In this part of IEC EN 60917, mounting spacings of 25 mm and 2,5 mm are used as a basis for determining interface coordination dimensions for electronic equipment application.
This creates optimum conditions for the application of computer-aided methods throughout design and production, such as computer-aided planning, development, production, testing and installation.

The interface coordination dimensions specified for the overall exterior and opening dimensions of the lower racks provide space for independently created plug-in units to be installed.
