IEC EN 61851-21-1 Electric Vehicle Conductive Charging System - Part 21-1 Electric Vehicle Onboard Charger EMC Requirements for Conductive Connection to AC-DC Source

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of IEC EN 61851-21-1 test. IEC EN 61851-21-1 together with IEC EN 61851-1 gives the requirements for the conductor connection of an electric vehicle (EV) to an AC or DC source. Applies only to onboard cradles that are tested throughout the vehicle or tested at the charging system component level (ESA - electronic subassembly).

IEC EN 61851-21-1 Electric Vehicle Conductive Charging System - Part 21-1 Electric Vehicle Onboard Charger EMC Requirements for Conductive Connection to AC-DC Source

This standard covers electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for electrically powered vehicles in any charging mode when connected to the mains.

Vehicle systems will operate correctly within +10% to -15% of standard rated supply voltage. The test methods relate only to the electric vehicle charging system where the "RESS is in grid connected charging mode". Tests should be performed either on individual samples or on the entire vehicle, at the request of the vehicle manufacturer, as defined in the test plan.

All tests, such as cable lengths, should be performed using the charging cable specified or supplied by the electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) manufacturer or electric vehicle manufacturer, as further described in the test plan.

For electrical/electronic subassembly (ESA) separated on-board charger tests, an appropriate load must be used to simulate the termination of vehicle HV-systems, such as the HV battery. If special load boxes are used, these should also be described in the test plan.
