IEC EN 62052-41 Electrical Measuring Equipment - Part 41: Energy Recording Methods and Requirements Test Standard for Multi-Energy and Multi-Ratio Meters

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of IEC EN 62052-41 testing. IEC EN 62052-41 applies only to newly manufactured multi-energy or multi-rate static meters and only for type testing of them.

IEC EN 62052-41 Electrical Measuring Equipment - Part 41: Energy Recording Methods and Requirements Test Standard for Multi-Energy and Multi-Ratio Meters

This standard applies to electrical measuring equipment designed for:

  • Measuring and controlling electrical energy in networks with voltages up to 1000 V AC or 1500 V DC;
  • Enclosed in all functional elements except display screens or forming a single meter box, including additional modules;
  • Work with integrated displays;
  • Works with or without standalone display screens;
  • It can be installed in a specific matching socket or rack;
  • Optionally, it provides additional functions beyond the measurement of electrical energy.

Meters designed to operate with Low Power Instrument Transformers (LPITs defined in the IEC 61869 series) may be tested for compliance with this standard and the relevant IEC EN 62053 series standards only if such meters and their LPITs are tested together as direct connected meters.

This standard does not apply to:

  • Counters where the line-to-neutral voltage from the rated voltages exceeds 1 V AC or 000 1 V DC;
  • Meters intended for connection with low power instrument transformers (LPITs as defined in IEC EN 61869 series standards) when tested without such transformers;
  • Measurement systems consisting of multiple devices (excluding LPITs) that are physically distant from each other;
  • portable meters;
  • Counters used in wagons, vehicles, ships and aircraft;
  • Laboratory and meter testing equipment;
  • Reference standard measuring devices;
  • Data interfaces to the meter register;
  • Suitable sockets or racks used for mounting electrical measuring equipment.

This standard does not cover measures to detect and prevent fraudulent attempts (tamper) to compromise the performance of a meter.
