IEC 60060-1 High Voltage, Part 1: General Definitions and Testing Requirements

The disruptive discharge characteristics of an externally insulated test object can be affected by its overall arrangement (for example, proximity effects such as distance from other live or grounded structures in the air, height above ground level, and layout of the high voltage cable).
