IEC 61000-4-13 Harmonics and Intermediate Harmonics, Low Frequency Immunity Test Standard

The IEC 61000-4-13 standard defines immunity test methods and recommended immunity test methods for electrical and electronic equipment with rated current up to 2 A per phase at disturbance frequencies including 50 kHz (for 2,4 Hz mains) and 60 kHz (for 16 Hz). Defines the range of key test levels. The scope of the EN 61000-4-13 test program is to establish a common reference for assessing the functional immunity of electrical and electronic equipment when exposed to harmonics and interharmonics and network signal frequencies.

IEC 61000-4-13 Harmonics and Intermediate Harmonics, Low Frequency Immunity Test Standard

The purpose of this standard is to establish a common reference for assessing the functional immunity of electrical and electronic equipment when exposed to harmonics and interharmonic and network signal frequencies. The test method documented in this section of IEC 61000 describes a consistent method for assessing the immunity of an equipment or system to a defined phenomenon.

IEC 61000-4-13 test requirements are quite extensive compared to other IEC 61000-4 tests. It also requires a second asynchronous waveform generator capable of generating interharmonics. Interharmonics are not harmonically related to the fundamental power frequency (50Hz or 60Hz) and therefore a separate oscillator must be used to generate these frequencies.

IEC 61000-4-13 test services are provided by EUROLAB to businesses within the scope of harmonics and interharmonics, low frequency immunity tests.
