IEC 61000-4-14 Voltage Surge Immunity Test Standard

The IEC 61000-4-14 standard applies a series of repetitive voltage fluctuations. The required IEC 61000-4-14 test sequences are included in the IEC AC immunity option package and cover all defined classes and rated voltage and frequency permutations for single, split or three phase products.

IEC 61000-4-14 Voltage Surge Immunity Test Standard

This part of EC 61000, a basic electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) publication, considers immunity tests for electrical or electronic equipment in electromagnetic environments. Only conducted phenomena are considered, including immunity tests for equipment connected to public and industrial power supply networks.

This standard aims to establish a reference for evaluating the immunity of electrical and electronic equipment when subjected to positive and negative low amplitude voltage fluctuations.

Voltage fluctuations considered by this standard do not include flicker, which is a physiological phenomenon caused by fluctuations in lighting brightness. This standard applies to electrical or electronic equipment with a rated input current of up to 16 A per phase.

Immunity testing levels required for a particular electromagnetic environment are specified on the product, product family, or general standards as appropriate, along with performance criteria. However, most product lines do not have a history of being susceptible to voltage fluctuations. As a result, testing for these phenomena is not usually necessary.

IEC 61000-4-14 test services are provided by EUROLAB to businesses within the scope of voltage surge immunity tests.
