The main connector for the MT-RJ type connector family is a plug connector with single or multiple fibers in a nominally 0,7 mm × 4,4 mm rectangular ferrule, aligned with two 2,5 mm diameter pins and corresponding holes. The connector contains a single connecting latch and a ferrule spring loaded in the optical axis direction. The plug connector has a single male switch that can be used to drive the connector and the component with which it is mated.
