IEC 61000-4-6 Immunity Test Standard Against Transmitted Disorders

The IEC 61000-4-6 standard deals with the requirements for conducted immunity of electrical and electronic equipment against electromagnetic disturbances from radio frequency (RF) transmitters intended in the frequency range up to 9 kHz. 80MHz. Equipment that does not have at least one conductive cable (such as mains supply, signal line, or ground connection) capable of connecting the equipment to nuisance RF fields is outside of IEC 61000-4-6 testing.

IEC 61000-4-6 Immunity Test Standard Against Transmitted Disorders

The purpose of the IEC 61000-4-6 test standard is to establish a common reference for assessing the functional immunity of electrical and electronic equipment when subjected to conducted disturbances caused by radio frequency fields. The test method documented in EN 61000-4-6 testing defines a consistent method for assessing the immunity of an equipment or system to a defined phenomenon.

The source of disturbance covered by the IEC 61000-4-6 standard is basically an electromagnetic field from the intended RF transmitters, which can have an effect on the entire cable length connected to the installed equipment. An EN 61000-4-6 test lab exposes the EUT to a source of disturbance consisting of electric and magnetic fields, simulating those from intentional RF transmitters.

Our knowledge of the standard ensures that our customers' devices are properly tested, but more importantly, it allows our engineers to assist our customers in overcoming test errors. When faults occur, our team not only determines the possible root cause of the problem, but also works diligently with our customers to identify and implement fixes to overcome the faults.

Eurolab provides IEC 61000-4-6 testing services to businesses within the scope of immunity tests against transmitted diseases.
