IEC 60060-3 High Voltage Test Techniques, Part 3: Definitions and Requirements Test Standard for On-Site Testing

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of the IEC 60060-3 standard. Applies to the following on-site test voltages and in-service voltages pertaining to IEC 60060-1:

• direct voltage;
• Alternating voltage;
• Lightning impulse voltage of non-periodic or oscillating shape;
• Switching pulse voltage of non-periodic or oscillating shape.

Requirements specified in IEC 60060-1 and IEC 60060-2, external electric and magnetic fields, weather conditions, etc. It cannot always be provided during on-site tests due to various external factors that are not present in factory and laboratory tests, such as

On-site high voltage tests are required:

• Strength tests on equipment as part of a commissioning procedure to demonstrate that transport from the manufacturer to the site and on-site assembly conforms to the manufacturer's specification;
• After on-site repair, durability tests to demonstrate that the equipment has been successfully repaired and is in good condition for return to service;
• For diagnostic purposes, eg. PD measurement to show whether the insulation is still free from dangerous defects and as an indicator of its useful life.

This standard is applicable to equipment with a peak voltage Um greater than 1 kV. Selection of on-site test voltages, test procedures and test voltage levels for apparatus, equipment or installations is the responsibility of the relevant technical committee. For special applications, in-situ test voltages different from those described in this standard may be determined by the relevant technical committee.
