IEC EN 62271-111 High Voltage Switchgear and Control Equipment - Part 111: Automatic Circuit Reclosers for Alternating Current Systems Up to 38 kV (38 kV Included)

IEC EN 62271-111 applies to all overhead, pad-mounted, dry case and submersible single or multipole alternating current automatic circuit reclosers for rated maximum voltages above 1000 V and up to (inclusive) 38 kV.

Devices that require a dependent manual action are not covered by this standard. To simplify this document whenever possible, the term reclosers (or reclosers) is used interchangeably with automatic circuit reclosers or cut-mount reclosers, or both.

If the actual service conditions differ from these normal service conditions, the high-voltage switchgear and controlgear and related operating devices and ancillary equipment shall be designed or appropriate arrangements shall be made to suit the special service conditions required by the user.

Special service conditions shall be brought to the attention of those responsible for the manufacture of the equipment to identify or prevent loss of performance or service life from the specified values, if any. When available, applicable standards such as those for altitude correction will be used.

Standard switchgear and controlgear are designed for mounting in fairly flat structures free of excessive vibration, shock or bending. Where any of these abnormal conditions exist, the requirements for a particular application must be specified by the user.

Reclosers and fault breakers must be capable of producing any current, including rated symmetric tripping currents, at any applied voltage, including the voltage corresponding to the rated voltages.
