IEC 62271-103 High Voltage Switchgear and Controller, Part 103: Standard Test for Alternating Current Switches

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of IEC 62271-103 standard. IEC 62271-103 applies to rated voltages from 1 kV to 52 kV (inclusive), for indoor and outdoor installations, with three-phase, alternating current switches and switch-disconnectors, tripping and breaking current ratings for switching functions.

This standard also applies to single-pole switches used in three-phase systems.

This standard includes the following important technical changes:

• This standard is harmonized with IEC 62271-1 and IEC 62271-102;
• Added descriptions of the behavior of the switch during interrupt tests on current interruption and restarts;
• After making the key and breaking tests, its status was clarified;
• The behavior of the switch during the breaking tests has been clarified and the strike limit limits have been defined again;
• Added explanations for short-circuiting tests;
• Vacuum integrity check after mechanical processes are identified;

All test voltages for single phase capacitive tests are grouped under 7.101.7.3.2 and confirmed by simulation and calculation.
