IEC EN 61869-3 applies to new inductive voltage transformers for use with electrical measuring equipment and electrical protective devices at frequencies between 15 Hz and 100 Hz. This standard replaces IEC 60044-2: Inductive Voltage Transformers.
The accuracy class for measuring voltage transformers is determined by the highest permissible voltage error percentage at the rated voltage and rated load, determined for the relevant accuracy class.
Standard accuracy classes for protective voltage transformers are 3P and 6P and the same voltage error and phase shift limits will normally apply at both 5% of the nominal voltage and the voltage corresponding to the nominal voltage factor. At 2% of nominal voltage the error limits will be twice as high as at 5% of nominal voltage.
The standard values of the nominal primary voltage of three-phase transformers and single-phase transformers used in a single-phase system or between lines in a three-phase system must be one of the values of the nominal system voltage determined as ordinary values. Standard values of the rated primary voltage of a single-phase transformer connected between a line of a three-phase system and ground or between a system neutral point and ground should be 1/√3 times one of the rated values.
