This standard also applies to individual pressure sensing controls used as part of a control system or pressure sensing controls mechanically integrated with multifunctional controls with non-electrical outputs.
Automatic electrical pressure sensing controls are within the scope of this standard for equipment used by the public, such as equipment intended for lay use in shops, light industry, and on farms. This standard does not apply to pressure sensing controls for industrial process applications only, unless expressly specified in the relevant equipment standard.
This standard applies to the testing of automatic electrical pressure sensing controls on, on or with equipment, the sequence of operations associated with inherent safety, operating values, equipment protection, and equipment.
This standard does not take into account the response value of the automatic action of a pressure sensing control if such a response value depends on the method of mounting it in the equipment. Where the response value has an important purpose for the protection of the user or the environment, the value defined in the appropriate equipment standard or specified by the manufacturer will apply.
Generally, these pressure sensing controls are integrated into or incorporated into equipment, or are designed to be integrated into equipment or equipment. This standard also covers these controls when mounted independently. In-line cable controls are not covered by this standard.
