Types of dust Dust is the dispersed dispersion of solids in gases, especially air, resulting from mechanical processes. According to EN 481, two size categories should be distinguished: respirable dust and respirable dust fraction. Inhalable powder refers to the entire mouth and/or nose inhalable portion of the powder.
Inhalable dust relates to the fraction of inhalable dust that can reach the pulmonary alveoli due to its small particle size.
