Test methods are specified for accessories for extruded and paper-insulated cables according to EN 60502-2 and EN 60055-1, respectively.

The important technical changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:

  • Added a test in water for the stop tips;
  • Heating cycles voltage testing has been revised to clarify testing in air and water;
  • Test conditions for short-circuit tests have been redefined;
  • Additional information is provided for testing metallic shielded detachable connectors;
  • Tests not mandated by IEC, i.e. dip test and impact test for outdoor terminations.
