It is a type testing procedure to determine the magnitude of vibration in the grip areas of a machine operating under specified test conditions. The results are intended to be used to compare different models of the same type of machine.
ISO 28927-8 is applicable to reciprocating files for surface finishing, equipped with a file or polishing tool, saws for splitting sheets, plaster or wood for medical use, or a saw blade for use on any material, and pneumatically or otherwise actuated metal. or small circular saws for cutting composite materials.
It does not apply to files normally used on a one-handed file cutter or to large circular saws designed for cutting wood.
