IEC EN 62040-2 Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) - Standard Test for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Requirements

IEC EN 62040-2 is available as IEC EN 62040-2 RLV with International Standard and Redline version and shows all changes in technical content compared to previous version.

IEC EN 62040-2 Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) - Standard Test for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Requirements

IEC EN 62040-2 is a type-testing product standard for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and applies to mobile, fixed, fixed or built-in, pluggable and permanently connected UPSs for use in low-voltage distribution systems where an environment is residential.

The requirements have been chosen to provide an adequate level of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for the UPS in public and industrial locations. However, these levels cannot cover extreme situations that can occur anywhere but have an extremely low probability of occurring.

As a stand-alone product, a UPS unit or system must meet the relevant requirements of this part of IEC/EN 62040-2. The EMC event generated by any customer's load connected to the output of the UPS equipment will not be considered. This part of IEC EN 62040 does not cover DC powered electronic ballast or UPS based on rotating machines.
