This document applies to photovoltaic (PV) reference devices used to measure the irradiance of natural or simulated sunlight to measure the electrical performance of photovoltaic devices (cells, modules and arrays).
It does not cover photovoltaic reference devices used under concentrated sunlight.
These procedures can be applied to a single PV solar cell, a subset of PV solar cells, or a PV module. This document applies to non-concentrated PV devices for use in terrestrial environments with reference to (generally but not limited to) the global reference spectral radiation AM60904 defined in IEC 3-1.5.
