Power circuits in which electrical energy is used as a direct operating device are excluded from this part of IEC EN 60204. In addition to this standard, the applicable C standard for the machines listed in the examples can be consulted for more information.
Laser processing machines can produce laser radiation. The laser class must be specified in accordance with IEC EN 60825-1 and the laser hazard label corresponding to the laser class must be affixed and laser hazards must be minimized according to IEC EN 60825-1 and IEC EN 60825-4. IEC EN 60825-4 specifies requirements for laser shields.
When a machine tool needs to use several electrical cabinets, it is recommended that the main power supply be connected to the main power switch of a single electrical cabinet. If other cabinets need a power source, it is recommended to connect them to the main power switch of this single electrical cabinet.
