EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of IEC EN 60437 standard. This standard specifies the procedure for laboratory radio interference (RI) testing on clean, dry isolators at the frequency of 0,5 MHz or 1 MHz, or alternatively other frequencies between 0,5 MHz and 2 MHz.
In service, the RI properties of an insulator can be altered by ambient conditions, particularly precipitation and other humidity and pollution. Specifying repeatable test conditions to simulate a range of ambient conditions is not considered appropriate. Therefore, only tests on clean and dry insulators are specified in this standard.
The first issue of IEC EN 60437 presented the then available information on a radio interference test on high voltage insulators as a technical report. This allowed more experience in the execution of the test and interpretation of the results to be obtained.
