IEC EN 60437 Radio Interference Testing on High Voltage Insulators

This standard specifies the procedure for laboratory radio interference (RI) testing on clean, dry isolators at the frequency of 0,5 MHz or 1 MHz, or alternatively other frequencies between 0,5 MHz and 2 MHz.

In service, the RI properties of an insulator can be altered by ambient conditions, particularly precipitation and other humidity and pollution. Specifying repeatable test conditions to simulate a range of ambient conditions is not considered appropriate. Therefore, only tests on clean and dry insulators are specified in this standard.
