This standard covers a set of connectors with 2,54 mm (0,1 inch) pitch designed to connect a double-sided printed card to another printed card or cables.

Two types of connectors are available:

  • One-piece edge-socket connector: The fixed connector or (female) receptacle is designed to mate with the edge-board contacts.
  • Two-piece connector: The fixed connector or (female) receptacle is designed to mate with the free connector of the board-mount (male) connector.

The fixed connectors or (female) receptacles are the same for these two cases.

Fixed connectors can be used with:

  • Solder terminations for wire;
  • Solder terminations for board up to 3,44 mm (0,135 in);
  • Wrapped terminations.

Free connectors with flat solder termination are provided for double-sided board with 1,6 mm (0,063 inch) nominal thickness. For edge-socket connectors only, polarization and coding are available via a device mounted instead of two opposite contacts.

Original dimensions are in millimeters. The projection method used is the method of the first angle. The shape of the connectors may be different as long as dimensions are not affected. For edge socket connector only, polarization can be achieved by switching the two opposite contacts of the fixed connector with a polarization switch.

Wiring and test board are optional except contact resistance under specified current. In this case, the maximum wire accepted by the terminations will be used.
