This standard deals with the hazards posed by tools that are reasonably foreseeable and encountered by all persons in normal use. Power tools that can be mounted on a support or workbench for use as a stationary tool without any modification to the tool itself are within the scope of this standard, and such a combination of a hand tool and a support is considered.
This standard does not apply to hand-held drain cleaners. Hand-held drain cleaners are covered by IEC EN 62841-2-21. This standard does not apply to high pressure cleaners used to clean drains. High pressure cleaners are covered by IEC EN 60335-2-79. This standard does not apply to machines that use a solid bar to clean the channels.
