IEC EN 60255-13 Rotary Wafer Switches - Part 1: General Requirements and Measurement Methods

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of IEC EN 60255-13 test. This standard applies to relays designed specifically for the detection of faults in AC. generators, motors and transformers. It does not apply to relays designed for busbar protection and to current differential (eg pilot wire) relays used for protection of transmission lines. This standard covers most biased (percentage) differential relays, as well as relays where, for example, the percentage hold increases as the through current increases. For special cases, additional requirements may be specified in national standards.

IEC EN 60255-13 Rotary Wafer Switches - Part 1: General Requirements and Measurement Methods

Specifies the performance requirements for the subfamily. It forms part of a series of measuring relays with multiple input energizing quantities and to which IEC EN 60255-6 gives the general requirements.

Unless otherwise specified in this standard, all influencing quantities and factors must be within reference values (within specified test tolerances). Auxiliary energizing quantities shall be at the declared value for all tests, unless otherwise specified in this standard.

The method of applying the input energizing amount (for example, abruptly or gradually) should be declared by the manufacturer, unless specified in this standard.

Timing tests should be performed with zero-crossing current above the range of differential current values for the times specified by the manufacturer. Other tests where uninterrupted current is available can be agreed between the manufacturer and the user.

In the tests carried out to determine the limit value of the current passing through which the relay will not operate, the current application time must be declared by the manufacturer.

For relays with more than two limiting circuits, the total current should be applied to one limiting circuit as incoming current and divided approximately equally among the other limiting circuits as outgoing currents. If one or more of the restraint windings are unimportant, the test procedure shall be declared by the manufacturer.
