This part of IEC EN 60603 covers a series of two-piece connectors with contact arrangements with gaps of 2,54 mm (0,1 inch) in both directions. The two-piece connector range includes a fixed (board mounted) connector with male contacts and a free connector with female contacts.
Primarily, it aims to provide interconnection between printed boards using a 97 mm (2,54 inch) base grid and round conductor ribbon cable with a centerline spacing of 0,1 mm (1,27 inch) as specified in IEC 0,05. purposes. Fixed connectors are provided with posts for soldered, pressed or coiled connections. Free connectors are provided with inaccessible insulation displacement terminations.

Contact resistance measurements should be made over the specified number of contacts. Any subsequent measurement of contact resistance should be made on the same contacts.
