ISO 10965 Textile Floor Coverings - Test Standard for Determination of Electrical Resistance

Developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), the ISO 10965 standard defines a laboratory method for determining the electrical resistance of textile floor coverings. The method includes both horizontal and vertical measurements.

ISO 10965 Textile Floor Coverings - Test Standard for Determination of Electrical Resistance

Horizontal Resistance is the electrical resistance of the surface measured between two electrodes placed on the surface of a floor covering.

Vertical Resistance is the surface-to-back electrical resistance measured between the surface and back of a floor covering.

Resistance to Earth is the electrical resistance measured between the surface of a floor covering and the ground.

The horizontal and vertical resistances of a conditioned test specimen are measured using a high resistance meter and electrodes under a controlled atmosphere. The horizontal resistance measurement is suitable for assessing the ability of a floor covering to act as a load acceptor.

The vertical resistance measurement is suitable for assessing the ability of a floor covering to transmit a load trough to a load pool below it.

Grounding resistance is designed for in situ measurements, as the results depend on the quality of the electrical grounding at the time of measurement.

Among the services provided by our organization within the framework of material testing services, there are also ISO 10965 standard tests.
