The maximum conductor operating temperature for each of the cables in this standard is 180°C. HD 516 includes comprehensive guidance on the safe use of cables in this standard. This IEC EN 50525-2-83 should be read in conjunction with IEC EN 50525-1, which specifies the general requirements.
The strain bearing member shall be of a non-metallic material. The strain bearing element may be configured as a single strain bearing element or may be divided into two or more elements.
Each cable shall comply with the appropriate requirements given in IEC EN 50525-1 and the specific requirements of this part. The strain-bearing element shall have a minimum total breaking load of 240 N before and after aging over the entire cable at (200 ± 3)°C for 300 hours. The strain-bearing member shall have a limited elongation compatible with the hubs to avoid excessive stress on them.
