This section is applicable to reactors without limitation of rated power, subject to an agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer. This part is applied to dry type reactors. Coils may be encapsulated or unencapsulated.
Reactors declared as overload resistant reactors and complying with the requirements for such reactors shall be marked with the symbol for overload resistant reactors.
Non-overload reactors with built-in fuses and non-overload reactors designed to be protected by fuses must additionally be marked with the rated current in amperes or milliamperes of the protective fuse-link, followed by or before the symbol for the fuses.
Reactors with replaceable protective devices combined other than fuses, which are not overload resistant by nature, and reactors designed to be protected by protective devices other than fuses, shall also be marked with the manufacturer's model or the type reference of the device.
Where replaceable protective devices other than fuses are used, appropriate information on their replacement should be provided in an instruction sheet or equivalent supplied with the reactor. Reactors declared to be fail-safe reactors and complying with the requirements of such reactors shall be marked with the symbol for fail-safe reactors.
