EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of DEF STAN-59-41 standard. The requirements of this standard apply to the limitation of transmitted or radiated electromagnetic energy and to the limitation of electrical and electronic equipment, subsystems and their susceptibility to such energy.
The standard outlines typical electromagnetic environmental requirements for electrical/electronic equipment used in services and provides documentation covering the implementation of management and control procedures at all stages of any project.
This standard also includes some simulated NEMP, lightning strike and electrostatic discharge tests at the line switching unit (LRU) level.
This standard is not concerned with the allocation of radio frequencies, performance tests on communications equipment, or direct ignition of fuel/munitions with electromagnetic energy. Guidance on these can be obtained from the appropriate Radio Frequency Allocation Agency or the Defense Ordnance Security Group.
