DIN 54345-1 Electrostatic Behavior - Standard Test for Determining Electrical Resistance Values

Where the electrostatic behavior is not determined by these resistance values ​​alone, charge measurements according to DIN 54345 Part 4 are required.

In the case of materials whose use for safety reasons requires conductivity over large distances, e.g. B. Filter material, surface resistance cannot be tested according to the current standard due to the small measuring range of the electrode arrangement. These materials will be tested according to DIN 54345 Part 5.

In the case of threads, the wires are cut into pieces about 20 mm long. At least five samples of this cut material are prepared in such an amount that the insulating cylinder can be filled to a height of 10 mm under load from the measuring and ring electrodes. In the case of fibers and short fiber cuts, at least five measuring samples are also provided in an appropriate quantity.

All measurements in the laboratory will be made in climate according to Chapter 5. The measured value can be read when the meter's display is stable, but no later than one minute after voltage is applied. Fees may affect the measurement result. Therefore, it should be avoided or, if necessary, removed before measurement using the discharge device.
