IEC EN 61162-410 Marine Navigation and Radiocommunication Equipment and Systems -Digital Interfaces - Part 410: Ship Systems Interconnection

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of IEC EN 61162-410 testing. This part of IEC EN 61162 defines the general requirements of the T profile and three implementations of the T profile over the Internet V4 (IPV4) protocol suite. Part 400 of this standard defines the relationship between the different protocol levels (T-profile, A-profile and accompanying standards), and part 401 defines the A-profile, which is the direct user of the protocol level defined in this section.

IEC EN 61162-410 Marine Navigation and Radiocommunication Equipment and Systems -Digital Interfaces - Part 410: Ship Systems Interconnection

Different components of the IEC EN 61162-410 standard are defined in IEC EN 61162-400. The T profile is the specification of the communication services and communication protocols used by the LNA to implement the A profile functionality.

Note that time distribution and network management functionality may or may not include certain TLI services. On some systems, this functionality may be interfaced directly by the underlying operating system. Also, keep in mind that time allocation and network management are not exactly transport-related protocol functionality. However, the implementation of these services normally depends on the transport protocols used and is therefore placed in the T-profile section of the standard.

The purpose of this standard is to describe and describe the services to be provided at the transport level interface, completely independent of the underlying network environment, and also to describe a possible implementation of these services over Internet V4 protocols. Separation of service and protocol definitions allows to specify several different transport profiles, each dedicated to a specific network environment, and to use the same transport service interface in all cases.

A common time reference must exist in the system-level network to timestamp all temporal data transmitted by nodes and estimate the validity of received data. Time will be generated and maintained on at least one dedicated time generator/server at the network level. The time distribution service must allow the use of multiple (redundant) servers.
