Electrostatic Discharge Test

In a specially designed room, we offer ESD testing services at controlled temperature and humidity. This special room consists of ESD waveform verification setup and tables with various EUTs. The chamber has the capacity to change the relative humidity from 15% to 65% and the temperature from 18 ° C to 24 ° C.

Since the ESD event largely depends on environmental conditions such as ambient temperature and humidity levels, having this particular room allows the variation of environmental conditions to see the effect of the device on its performance. This helps identify the worst environmental conditions of a particular device.

Electrostatic discharge test is performed according to IEC / EN 61000-4-2 for testing for compliance with EU and International requirements. It likens ESD events directly to an electronic product or to a nearby metallic surface.

In general, a product may not see any effect of the ESD test at the upper end of the moisture range defined in the standard, because the ESD effect in that range is less severe than low humidity levels. This can result in a false sense of security.

We strongly recommend performing ESD testing where environmental variables can be fully controlled. This can be particularly useful during the device's development cycle. It also makes debugging much easier and effective for ESD.
