The environments covered by this standard are industrial, both indoors and outdoors. The apparatus covered by this standard is not designed for connection to a public grid, but is intended to be connected to a power grid fed from a dedicated high or medium voltage transformer to supply an installation supplying a manufacturing or similar facility. This standard applies to devices intended for operation in industrial locations or close to industrial power plants.
EN 50082-2 specifies minimum requirements for immunity to electromagnetic disturbances in the frequency range 0 Hz to 400 GHz, including permanent and transient electromagnetic events, for equipment installed in industrial environments.
