EN 55015 Radio Interference Feature Standard for Electrical Lighting and Similar Equipment

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 55015 standard. This standard covers the general EMC specifications of electrical lighting and similar equipment. Manufacturers of electrical lighting and similar equipment design their products according to the TS EN 55015 standard and have them tested (EMC Test). The purpose of the standard is to specify general specifications and tests for electromagnetic compatibility of electrical lighting and similar equipment.

EN 55015 Test Scope

Electromagnetic Compatibility tests are tests in which the operation of any electrical and electronic device or system is checked without being affected by and without affecting other devices or systems in the environment. EMC Tests are generally examined in 2 general categories as immunity and emission.

Emission EMC Tests specified in EN 55015 standard;

Radiated Emission Test
Conducted Emission Test
Harmonics Test
Voltage Fluctuations and Flicker Test

Immunity EMC Tests specified in EN 55015 standard;

Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Test
Radiated, RF, Electromagnetic Field (Radiated Immunity) Test
Electrical Fast Transients / Burst Test
Surge Test
Conducted Immunity Test by RF Fields
Network Frequency Magnetic Distortions (Magnetics) Test
Voltage Dips and Interruptions Test

EN 55015 Test Application

During the test, no change in light intensity should be observed and the regulatory control, if any, should work as required during the test.

During the test, the light intensity may change. After the test, the light intensity should be returned to the initial value within 1 minute. The regulating control need not be running during the test, but the control mode should be the same as the control mode before the experiment, provided that no mode change command is given after the test.

Any change in light intensity is allowed during or at the end of the test and the lamp(s) may be turned off. If a temporary interruption of the mains supply or operation of the regulating control is required, all functions should return to normal within 30 minutes after the test.

At the end of the test, the lighting device is turned off. It will turn back on after 30 min. The lighting device should start and work properly.
