EN 61000-4-6 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) Test and Measurement Techniques - Immunity to Conducted Disturbances Caused by Radio Frequency Fields

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN 61000-4-6 standard. EN 61000-4-6 deals with the transmitted immunity requirements of electrical and electronic equipment against electromagnetic disturbances from radio frequency (RF) transmitters intended in the frequency range 150 kHz to 80 MHz.

EN 61000-4-6 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) Test and Measurement Techniques - Immunity to Conducted Disturbances Caused by Radio Frequency Fields

Equipment that does not have at least one conductive wire or cable (such as a mains supply, signal line, or ground connection) capable of connecting the equipment to nuisance RF fields is outside the scope of this publication. The purpose of this standard is to establish a common reference for evaluating the functional immunity of electrical and electronic equipment when subjected to conducted disturbances caused by RF fields.

The test method documented in EN 61000-4-6 describes a consistent method for assessing the immunity of an equipment or system to a defined phenomenon. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2008 and constitutes a technical revision.

It includes the following important technical changes compared to the previous edition:

  • Use of CDNs
  • Calibration of clamps,
  • Re-arrangement of Article 7 on test setup and injection methods,
  • Appendix A, now dedicated to EM and decoupling clamps,
  • Annex G, which deals with the measurement uncertainty of the voltage test level,
