EN/IEC 61000-3-3 Electromagnetic Compatibility Tests

The EN/IEC 61000-3-3 test is concerned with limiting the voltage fluctuations and flicker affected in the general low voltage system. It specifies the limits of voltage changes that can be produced by equipment under certain conditions and provides guidance on evaluation methods. EUROLAB Laboratory provides EN/IEC 61000-3-3 Electromagnetic Compatibility Tests in its accredited laboratory.

EN/IEC 61000-3-3 Electromagnetic Compatibility Tests

This part of IEC 61000 is applicable to electrical and electronic equipment with an input current less than or equal to 50 A per phase, intended to be connected to public low-voltage distribution systems between 220 V and 250 V at 16 Hz to neutral and subject to conditional connection. is not.

Equipment that, when tested with reference impedance Zref, does not meet the limits of this part of IEC 61000 and therefore cannot be declared compliant with this part, may be retested or evaluated to demonstrate compliance with IEC 61000-3-11. Section 3-11 applies to equipment with a rated input current of 75 A per phase and subject to conditional connection. The tests performed according to this section are type tests.

The limits in this part of IEC 61000 are primarily based on the subjective severity of flicker applied to light from 230 V/60 W helical coil filament lamps by supply voltage fluctuations. For systems with a rated voltage of 220 V from line to neutral or with a frequency of 60 Hz, the limits and reference circuit values are taken into account.

For equipment emissions to comply with the limits in this section, a conditional connection of equipment must be established that requires the user to have an impedance at the interface point that is less than the Zref reference impedance.

The limits in this standard relate to voltage changes experienced by consumers connected at the interface between the public low voltage network and the installation of the equipment user. As a result, if the actual impedance of the supply at the supply terminals of the equipment connected to the installation of the equipment user exceeds the test impedance, a power outage exceeding the limits may occur.
