EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of EN IEC 61000-4-16 testing. IEC 61000-4-16 deals with immunity requirements and test methods for electrical and electronic equipment for common mode disturbances transmitted in the dc to 150 kHz range.
The purpose of this standard is to establish a common and repeatable basis for testing electrical and electronic equipment by applying common mode disturbances to power supply, control, signal and communication ports. It has a basic EMC broadcast status in accordance with IEC Guide 107.
This standard defines:
For some types of ports, for example ports intended for use with highly stable lines, additional test provisions may be established with product committee specifications.
The test aims to demonstrate the immunity of electrical and electronic equipment when subjected to conducted common mode disturbances such as those caused by power line currents and return leakage currents in the grounding system.
Faults produced by 400 Hz network systems are not covered by this standard.
This test does not apply to equipment ports intended to be connected to short cables of 20 m or less in length.
