EN IEC 61000-6-2 Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) - General Standards - Immunity Standard for Industrial Environments

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of EN IEC 61000-6-2 standard. This part of EN IEC 61000 for EMC immunity requirements applies to electrical and electronic equipment intended for use in industrial locations as described. Immunity requirements in the frequency range 0 Hz to 400 GHz are met.

EN IEC 61000-6-2 Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) - General Standards - Immunity Standard for Industrial Environments

There is no need to test at frequencies where no requirements are specified. This general EMC immunity standard applies if the relevant specific product or product family EMC immunity standard is not available.

This standard applies to electrical and electronic equipment intended for operation in industrial locations, both indoors and outdoors.

This standard also applies to equipment that is intended to be connected directly to a DC distribution network or is battery operated and intended for use in industrial locations.

This standard defines immunity testing requirements for scoped equipment regarding permanent and temporary, conducted and radiated disturbances, including electrostatic discharges.

Immunity requirements were chosen to provide adequate immunity for equipment operating in industrial locations. However, the levels do not cover extreme situations that can occur anywhere but have an extremely low probability of occurring. This standard does not include all deterioration events for testing purposes, only those considered relevant to the equipment covered by this standard.

These test requirements represent basic electromagnetic compatibility immunity requirements. They are specified for each considered port.

The industrial environment can be modified with specific mitigation measures. Where it can be shown that such measures produce an electromagnetic environment equivalent to a residential, commercial or light industrial environment, the general standard or related product standard for that environment may be applied.
