IEC 61000-6-3 Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Part 6-3: General Standards, Emissions Standard for Equipment in Residential Environments

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of the IEC 61000-6-3 standard. IEC 61000-6-3 is a general EMC emission standard that applies only if the relevant specific product or product family EMC emission standard has not been published.

This part of IEC 61000 on emissions requirements applies to electrical and electronic equipment intended for use in residential locations.

This part of IEC 61000 also applies to electrical and electronic equipment intended for use in other locations not covered by IEC 61000-6-8 or IEC 61000-6-4.

The intent is for all equipment used in residential, commercial and light industrial environments to be covered by IEC 61000-6-3 or IEC 61000-6-8. If there is any doubt, the requirements in IEC 61000-6-3 apply.

The transmitted and radiated emission requirements in the frequency range up to 400 GHz are considered basic and have been chosen to provide adequate radio reception shielding in the defined electromagnetic environment.

Not all disturbance events are included for testing purposes, but only events considered relevant to equipment intended to operate in locations covered in this standard. The emission requirements in this standard are not intended to apply to intentional transmissions and their harmonics from a radio transmitter as defined by the ITU.
