IEC 61180-1 High Voltage Test Techniques for Low Voltage Equipment Part 1: Definitions, Testing and Procedure Requirements

EUROLAB laboratory provides testing and compliance services within the scope of IEC 61180-1 standard. IEC 61180 applies to direct voltage dielectric tests.

This part of IEC 61180 applies to:

• Direct voltage dielectric tests;
• Alternating voltage dielectric tests;
• Dielectric tests with impulse voltage;

This standard is only applicable to tests on equipment with a rated voltage of not more than 1 kV ac or 1,5 kV dc.

This standard is mainly applicable to type tests. It can also be applied or adapted for sample and routine testing as specified by the relevant technical committee.

It is not intended for use for electromagnetic compatibility tests on electrical or electronic equipment.

• Methods for generating and measuring test voltages and currents;
• Test procedures;
• Methods for evaluating test results and specifying acceptance criteria;
• Requirements for approved measuring devices and control methods.
