IEC EN 61000-4-15 Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) - Part 4-15: Test and Measurement Techniques - Vibration Meter - Functional and Design Features Test

EUROLAB, with its state-of-the-art accredited laboratories and expert team, provides precise and fast testing services within the scope of IEC EN 61000-4-15 testing. IEC EN 61000-4-15 gives functional and design specifications for vibration measuring apparatus aimed at demonstrating the correct level of vibration detection for all practical voltage fluctuation waveforms. Information is provided to enable such an instrument to be built.

A method is given for evaluating flicker intensity based on the output of vibration meters conforming to this standard. Vibration meter specifications in this part of IEC EN 61000 relate only to measurements of 120 V and 230 V, 50 Hz and 60 Hz inputs.

The purpose of this section of IEC EN 61000 is to provide basic information for the design and instrumentation of an analog or digital vibration measuring device. It does not give tolerance limit values of vibration intensity.

Various techniques are available to obtain accurate vibration assessment in a wide variety of conditions. Any of these may be used alone or in combination, provided the specified accuracy of ±5% is achieved over a sufficient modulation depth range of the input voltage.

Analog applications are allowed, provided they give the same results. For the purposes of compatibility testing and power quality research, results obtained with a digital device conforming to this standard are final.

From the cumulative probability function, significant statistical values can be obtained, such as the mean, standard deviation, flicker level exceeded for a given percentage of time, or alternatively, the percentage of time an assigned flicker level is exceeded.

The voltage input circuit must accept a wide range of rated mains voltages and adapt them to the maximum level compatible with the operation of the circuits in the device. The manufacturer should specify the voltages for which the tool is suitable.
