This standard applies to equipment that meets the following use restrictions:
IEC EN 61000-6-3 applies to electrical and electronic equipment intended for use in commercial and light industrial locations that do not meet these restrictions.
The aim is for all equipment used in residential, commercial and light industrial environments to be covered by IEC EN 61000-6-3 or IEC EN 61000-6-8. If there is any doubt, the requirements in IEC EN 61000-6-3 apply.
Transmitted and radiated emission requirements in the frequency range up to 400 GHz are considered basic and have been chosen to provide adequate radio reception shielding in the defined electromagnetic environment. Not all disturbance events are included for testing purposes, but only events considered relevant to equipment intended to operate in the locations covered in this document.
The emission requirements in this standard are not intended to apply to intentional transmissions and their harmonics from a radio transmitter as defined by the ITU.
