An input amount should be applied and the input amount should be increased slowly enough to a value corresponding to Ba to avoid overshoot. The recorded value, BX, should be read as soon as the steady state value of the input is reached and the table has moved at least 2 mm. This test should be performed in approximately five equal steps within the range, including the lower and upper limits of the measuring range.
For single-channel dot-line recorders, the reading used will be the point after the point indicating steady state has been reached. During this test, the chart must be driven at a high enough speed for the individual points to be distinguishable.
The variation due to mutual influence between measuring circuits is determined by energizing a circuit (or channel) such that a recording equal to approximately 50% of the range is obtained. The value of the input quantity of each circuit (channel) is changed simultaneously between the upper and lower limits of the measuring ranges.
The test is performed with a dc. voltage followed by voltage with a frequency equal to an ac power supply frequency, the phase relationship between the power supply voltage and ac must be adjusted so that the interference voltage achieves maximum effect.
