In the event of a conflict between the text of this standard and the applicable standard specified herein, the text of this standard shall take precedence. However, nothing in this standard replaces applicable laws and regulations.
In case of conflict between the requirements of this standard and the applicable assembly drawings, valid user-approved assembly drawings shall prevail. In case of conflict between the requirements of this standard and unapproved assembly drawings, the differences should be referred to the designated user action for approval. Following such approval, the provisions (with the official revision notice or equivalent) will be documented on the assembly drawings, which will become valid later.
Where this standard requires documentary evidence to support claims of conformity, each record should be retained and available for review for at least two years from the date of the recorded event.
This standard recognizes that electrical and electronic assemblies are subject to classification according to their intended end product use. Three general end-product levels have been established to reflect differences in manufacturability, functional performance requirements, and frequency of verification (inspection/test).
