This part of IEC EN 61249 gives requirements for the properties of economy grade, non-halogenated phenolic cellulose paper copper-clad laminated sheets in thicknesses from 0,8 mm to 3,2 mm.
The uncoated side of the one-sided coated boards will have the natural appearance resulting from the curing process. Minor irregularities in color are allowed. The gloss of the uncoated side will be the gloss imparted by the printing plate, release film or release foil used. Changes in gloss due to the influence of the pressure of the gases released during curing are allowed.
The base material will be substantially free of pits, holes, scratches, pores and foreign matter (including pre-cured resin particles) and will be substantially uniform in color. A small amount of uneven color change is allowed.
The supplier shall, at the request of the buyer, issue a certificate of conformity to this standard in electronic or paper format. The certificate of conformity does not include batch test data as a requirement.
Unless otherwise specified in the purchase order, laminated sheets shall be marked with the manufacturer's name, nominal thickness, copper plating and batch number. The marking will remain legible during normal use, but can be easily removed before the material is used. Boards and cut panels shall be packaged to provide adequate protection against corrosion, deterioration and physical damage during transport and storage.
